My name is LaShell Rountree and I want to serve New Haven's 26th ward as Alderwoman.
I am a lifelong New Haven resident - I believe in the city and I am committed to its success. Let's partner together to ensure that our needs are capably addressed at all levels of government.
It is important that we stand united at this moment of great opportunity for America. It is essential that we stand united as America in the face of this recession. I am confident that I can serve as the capable leader, partner and friend that the 26th ward needs to not only survive but to thrive in these times.
Our community faces some significant challenges. We have to find ways to address home foreclosures. Empty homes too often fall into disrepair and invite crime and mischief into our neighborhood. As homeowners and tax-payers we especially recognize the responsibility that this city has to spend wisely. When it comes to the stewardship of our tax dollars, we must hold our elected officials to the highest standards. Traffic calming must take place so that our streets are safe from the
dangers of speeding cars. I firmly believe that education is freedom and that our
city has to make whatever investments are necessary to ensure that all children
receive a top-quality education.
In the coming months I will reach out to you for support, I welcome you to take
advantage of the opportunity and get to know me. I also invite you to email me with your questions and concerns.
I'm confident that working together, we can build a better tomorrow. Let’s be the change New Haven needs.
